This installation involves the recommended placement locations of the ABS Waste
Holding Tank, the ABS Fresh Water Tank, the Gravity/City Water Fill Door, the
110V Electric Hot Water Heater and the 110V Demand Pump. The following is a
simplified, step by step procedure for installing the basic fresh water system in
your trailer. Please refer to the detailed instructions for installation found for each
component in the website Installation Instructions section. If you still have any
installation questions, email us or call us.
GRAVITY/CITY WATER FILL DOOR PLACEMENT
|
1. The placement of the city water door is important for easy filling and hose
hookup. This location should be close to and higher than the location of the fresh
water tank. Keep in mind that you will need to make a cutout in the trailer wall, all
the way through to the inside, so make sure the door is placed where studs or
supports are not in the way. Refer to the complete instructions for installing the
gravity/city water fill door found in the Installation Instructions section.
ABS FRESH WATER TANK PLACEMENT
|
1. Place the ABS Fresh Water Tank directly in front of the Waste Holding Tank, as
pictured above. Make sure the 1.25" boss fitting for filling the tank and the vent
barb fitting are at the top. The barb fitting for the outlet to the demand pump
should then be on bottom. It is recommended that the left side of both tanks are
flush with each other, allowing for easy access to all fittings. Once both tanks are
placed properly, you are ready to secure them.
110V SHURFLO DEMAND PUMP PLACEMENT
|
1. The 110V Shurflo Demand Pump should be located as close to the pump outlet
wall. The pump can function in any direction, whether it be facing upwards or
downwards if mounted on the wall. It does not need to be lower than the tank. It
is self priming and will even work upside down. It is recommended that the pump
be secured on the floor next to the fresh water tank.
2. In placing the pump, make sure pump location is near the outlet it will be
plugged in to. A short power cord must be attached to the pump and the cord
should be plugged into a switched outlet. Refer to pump installation instructions
for further details.
3. Pump should also be located where it can be plumbed into the cold water supply
PVC pipe between the hot water heater and the cold faucet shut off valves.

ABS WASTE HOLDING TANK PLACEMENT
|
1. The ABS Waste Holding Tank should be placed under the sink, on the trailer floor
or cabinet floor, as the above diagram shows. Keep in mind, the ABS Fresh Water
Tank will be placed directly in front of the Waste Holding Tank, as pictured below.
The tank drain valve and vent system will be installed on the left side, so allow ample
room for accessing. The sink drain inlet, installed on the top of the tank, should not
be covered or restricted. If the Fresh Water Tank is placed properly, the inlet fitting
will be easily accessible. Do not worry right now about securing the Waste Holding
Tank. This will be done after the Fresh Water Tank is installed.
1. The water tanks are best secured using what we call plumber's tape. This can be
found at any hardware store. It consists of a roll of metal tape, with multiple holes
in it and is sold normally in 10' rolls. Roll out a length of the tape, enough to go
from the back wall to the floor, directly in front of the tanks. You will need 2
lengths of tape to properly secure the tanks. Screw the first tape into the wall at
the level of the top of the water tanks. Run the tape over the tanks and down the
front to the floor directly in front of the fresh water tank. Screw the tape to the
floor at this point. Repeat the procedure for the second tape. Space the 2 tapes
evenly to distribute the hold down. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon. If you travel
with full tanks of water and the tanks are not secured down, damage will occur
when the tanks move inside the trailer or cabinet.
110V HOT WATER HEATER PLACEMENT
|
1. The Hot Water Heater is a very simple component to install. We have found the
best placement for it is to the left of the water tanks. Make sure the location does
not crowd the fittings on the water tanks, and if possible, a space between the
tanks and hot water heater, can be utilized to install the demand pump. The Hot
Water Heater comes with a mounting bracket. The bracket can be used to hand
the unit on the wall, or it can be mounted so the unit sits on the floor. We highly
recommend using plumber's tape to secure the hot water heater to prevent any
movement in transit.
